So I wrote the 2008 Vampirella Quarterly Halloween Special, hitting stores very soon.
As a fan of the magazine as a teen, and someone who turned in their fair share of covers for the comics as an illustrator, having the opportunity to write a Vampi story is a big deal for me.

GUIDELINES for DAN at COMIC CONVENTIONS
This page should help make the experience of visiting Dan at a show more enjoyable and organized. Many times fans have questions or requests and this page will help set everyone straight.
Remembering these simple points keeps Dan sane and happy and even more fun to talk to all weekend long:
1. NO FREE SKETCHES PLEASE.
Sometimes Dan will make an exception, such as in the case of a sketchbook he is selling or hardcover book. For those who purchase a hardcover or sketchbook, a small sketch is something he does anyway.
DAVE STEVENS 1955-2008
Submitted by docdan on Thu, 03/13/2008 - 19:09.March 13, 2008
Dave Stevens, artist, writer, illustrator, comic-book legend and creator of "The Rocketeer" character, died March 10th, after a long illness, (which has recently been revealed to be Hairy Cell Leukemia). We have lost a great talent, but those who were fortunate enough to know him even a little all knew Dave as a charismatic, gentle and quick-witted guy who always seemed years younger than his age.
Mark Evanier has written a piece on Dave you can see here:

FX 2008 what a fun show- Wondercon here we come
Submitted by docdan on Wed, 01/23/2008 - 00:55.Chartruz and I just returned from FX show in Orlando and we had a great time-
we got to hang with our LOCAL 23 pals, talk to readers who had recently picked up the new Nocturnals hardcover, and I did a bunch of sketches there as well.
Chartruz's Cuddlemonster toys were a big hit and she can now count Scary Godmother creator Jill Thompson as a client along with many other toy lovers who couldn't live without one of her hand-sewn creations.
